Job Description

The ideal candidate will provide caring, supportive supervision of all children in their care, develop engaging academic activities that enrich the students knowledge. Students will be supported in their peer and adult interactions. Program staff are responsible for maintaining heathy and safety requirements as identified in the After school Child Care Program Regulations and will report to and be supervised by the After school Site Director and/or the After school/Summer Program Administrator.

After school Child Care Program Staff shall meet or exceed the following qualifications:

  • be at least eighteen years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be willing to obtain at least one of the following within the first year of employment:
  • Vermont After school Foundations Certificate or
  • Vermont After school Essentials Certificate or
  • Vermont On-the-Job Training Certificate or
  • Vermont After school Professional Credential or
  • Vermont Program Director Credential or
  • Vermont Teacher Licensure or
  • BA/BS or Associates degree

The candidate will submit to appropriate background checks and clearances in accordance with CCSU and Vermont Child Care Licensing Requirements, complete orientation training, become CPR/First Aid certified within 90 days of hire, develop and IPDP within 4 months of hire as well as complete 8 hours of professional development annually upon the date of hire.
