Job Description

Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Provide academic, behavioral, and transition support to students during all school activities. Work with individual students or groups to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
  • Implement social skills instruction, behavior plans and intervention plans for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions for the purpose of improving academics, adaptive, social and/or communication skills.
  • Communicate regularly with teacher and/or administrator regarding student progress. Record data as prescribed to track student progress on IEP goals, objectives, behavior and intervention plans.
  • Experience with vision impairments preferred, but willing to train.

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $23 to $25 Per Hour

Job Requirements
  • QUALIFICATIONS – All paraprofessionals must meet State definition of Highly Qualified Paraprofessional (HQP) through one of the following:
    Associates Degree, successful completion (b-minus or better) of at least 48 credit hours from an accredited institution of higher learning, or successful completion of an approved paraprofessional assessment test required.
  • Genuine desire to work with students with intensive needs required.
  • High School/Trade School degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
