Long-Term Substitute Social Studies Teacher Needed

Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) seeks a qualified educator for a Long-Term Substitute Social Studies Teacher position. The position begins September 2026 and runs through January 15, 2027.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach 9th–12th grade social studies coursework with a primary focus on 19th- to 21st-century US and World History.
- Cover one section of an elective civics course.
- Teach four sections of 10th-grade Humanities in a co-teaching model alongside an English teacher.
- Utilize standards-based instruction and assessment practices.
- Collaborate using an interdisciplinary, team-teaching approach.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- Valid Vermont teaching licensure with a secondary Social Studies endorsement (only certified teachers will be considered).
- Experience with interdisciplinary team-teaching models.
- Demonstrated experience using standards-based instruction and assessment strategies.
