The Middlebury College Summer Italian School announces an opening for a temporary Instructor of Italian. The position is available during the summer 2022 session, located at the Bennington College campus in Vermont. Our unique program combines a cultural immersionenvironment with rigorous daily classroom instruction. This is an opportunity to join a community of learners, by actively engaging in teaching, dining, residing and recreating with students whilereading, writing and speaking exclusively in Italian.

This six-week course on Italian art history, will includearchitecture and will also focus on Italian museums located notonly in the famous "art cities" but in lesser-known areas. Thecourse will give students a unique opportunity to study exceptionalartworks in their cultural context. Students will be guided through the multi-layered artistic heritage of Italy over a broad time spanfrom late antiquity to the present.

In addition, the professor willhold one conference and participate in other cultural activities ofthe school. Lodgings are campus dormitory with communaldining

This position is for the summer 2022. In addition to the salary,lodging and a complete meal plan will be provided.
