The Middlebury College Summer School of Abenaki is pleased to announce vacancies for temporary faculty in the School of Abenaki.

These positions are available during the summer 2022 session,located on Middlebury College campus in Vermont. Our programcombines cultural immersion and language instruction drawn directly from the Minimalist Course for Abenaki. This is an opportunity tojoin a community of learners, by actively engaging in teaching,dining, residing and recreating with students while reading,writing, and speaking Abenaki.

• An active member of the Abenaki language community and ongoinglanguage reclamation.
• Cultural competency required for teaching the language.
• Be accessible to learners and an active co-learner.
• Experience working with diverse learners.

In addition to the salary, lodging and a complete meal plan will be provided. This position is for summer 2022 (June 27-July 15).

Completion of Minimalist Course for Abenaki.

Participation in a previous School of Abenaki session.

Actively participating in monthly online language classes.

In addition, strong interpersonal skills, and experience in language instruction.
