Summary Of Role

Global Foundries Fab 9 is seeking experienced professionals to support the state-of-the-art 200mm semiconductor manufacturing and development in Essex, Vermont. The core responsibilities involve process integration of semiconductor devices; monitoring performance and driving improvements related to technology yield, Cp/Cpk of inline and electrical parameters, defectivity, and more. The team is also responsible for the development of new and emerging technologies through definition/execution of experiments and technical data analysis.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a technical understanding of semiconductor principles and a balanced scorecard approach to develop, sustain, and improve semiconductor technologies with quality, cost, and delivery all considered.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Monitor, control, and qualify state-of-the-art 200mm semiconductor equipment
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance activities
  • Respond to error messages of factory systems and/or equipment
  • Process wafers using defined procedures
  • Review Statistical Process Control charts for process quality and react to Out of Control conditions, including defect troubleshooting
  • Perform visual inspections (quality check)
  • Recover from process and tool interruptions
  • Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization, and cost
  • Complete all required reporting and documentation
  • Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement processes, learning, and skills development
  • Work well as a team member and train new team members as needed; perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform all activities safely and responsibly, supporting Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications
  • 2‑year technical/associate degree in science, math, engineering, semiconductor manufacturing or related discipline, or equivalent military training/experience
  • At least 6 years direct experience in semiconductor manufacturing or semiconductor tool/equipment/facilities maintenance
  • Fluency in written and verbal English
  • Able to perform shift work on a 12‑hour schedule, including working in a cleanroom environment and wearing required protective clothing and equipment throughout the shift
  • Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis
  • Able to perform work in a standing position for the majority of a 12‑hour shift
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years direct experience in semiconductor manufacturing or semiconductor tool/equipment/facilities maintenance
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of semiconductor processing and process equipment
  • Proficient in operating computer and system interface programs to ensure appropriate computing and analysis of production information
  • Follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring high attention to detail and timeliness
  • Work well as a team member and train new team members as needed; able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and specific programs such as SAP, MES, ASPECT; create reports and document procedures
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control methodologies & systems
  • Familiarity with Lean processes & activities and Kaizen teams
