Manufacturing Engineer
The Process Engineer supports daily production while owning process performance and equipment reliability across wire and cable manufacturing. Partnering with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations, this role drives improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
Responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing cost‑effective manufacturing processes, the Process Engineer ensures product performance and operational efficiency. Acting as a cross‑functional technical liaison, this role supports equipment integration, new product industrialization, continuous improvement initiatives, and operator training.
Key Responsibilities- Provide hands‑on technical support for extrusion, stranding, cabling, and related processes.
- Lead root cause analysis of quality and downtime issues; implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Reduce scrap, improve productivity, and stabilize processes to protect on‑time delivery and cost performance.
- Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives with measurable results.
- Lead process development, validation, and industrialization for new product introductions.
- Lead installation, commissioning, and optimization of new equipment and technologies.
- Develop and maintain SOPs and process documentation; analyze process and quality data to drive optimization.
- Correlate product performance characteristics to process variables and implement adjustments to meet specifications.
- Evaluate and integrate new equipment, materials, and technologies in collaboration with vendors and cross‑functional teams.
- Identify and implement cost‑reduction opportunities through process and material optimization.
- Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System, AS9100/ISO standards, and customer requirements.
- Provide cross‑functional technical support and operator training to improve process consistency and effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Chemical, or related field).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD software, and PLC‑controlled systems.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change through continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Self‑motivated, resourceful, and able to work both independently and within team environments.
- Experience with extrusion, stranding, cabling, jacketing, or insulation processes.
- Knowledge of electrical performance testing and applicable industry standards (UL, ASTM, MIL‑SPEC, IPC, etc.).
- Experience working within AS9100 or ISO‑certified quality systems.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and process capability analysis.
