Summary of RoleGlobal Foundries Fab 9, the world leader in RF semiconductor manufacturing in Essex Junction, VT, is seeking an entry level Semiconductor Manufacturing Engineer. The selected individual will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering organization with primary responsibilities focused on support, development and continuous improvement of 200 mm semiconductor manufacturing processes.
Essential Responsibilities- Drive continuous improvement efforts in support of throughput improvement, cost reduction, and yield learning.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to screen and optimize equipment and processes to meet technology (performance, yield, and reliability) and manufacturing (process stability, cost of ownership) targets.
- Lead hands‑on, tactical troubleshooting efforts to resolve long‑term performance issues; deconstruct and understand complex systems.
- Collaborate with Global Foundries technicians and operators to support delivery and quality commitments to our customers.
- Collaborate with technology development, integration, characterization, and quality engineering to develop new technologies and drive improvements to yield.
- Understand both equipment and process sides of issues, focusing on delivering our product on time with excellent quality.
- Apply structured problem‑solving methods to complex systems to address performance issues.
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
- Education – Bachelor’s in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and proven good academic standing.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
- Travel – up to 10%.
- Prior related internship or co‑op experience.
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
- Project management skills, the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter, and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, internal and external partners.
- Understanding and knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
