Requirements Must have
- We require a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- We require at least 10 years of relevant experience in rail, transit, railroad infrastructure, or transportation/land development engineering.
- We require a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- We need proven experience leading multidisciplinary rail engineering efforts and managing client relationships.
- We need a strong grasp of design standards for track, at-grade crossings, grade-separated structures, and utility crossings.
- We prefer experience mentoring technical staff and guiding engineering teams across multiple projects or offices.
- We expect familiarity with CAD platforms and standard engineering software.
- We need strong business development, communication, leadership, and organizational capabilities.
- We need the ability to collaborate effectively with railroad personnel, clients, agencies, contractors, and internal teams.
- We require the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
- We need willingness to travel regionally as needed to support project delivery and client engagement.
- We provide regional leadership for railroad projects and help drive strategic growth initiatives within the assigned region.
- We lead the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of rail projects such as industry track, terminals, spurs, mainlines, yards, and sidings.
- We coordinate with railroad companies on DOT and municipal public agency projects involving at-grade crossings, grade-separated structures, and utility crossings.
- We serve as a senior technical advisor on rail design, grading, drainage, and related infrastructure.
- We build and maintain strong relationships with clients, railroad operators, public agencies, and industry partners across the region.
- We support business development through client engagement, proposal development, project pursuits, and participation in industry organizations and conferences.
- We mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers, designers, and junior staff across multiple offices and project teams.
- We collaborate with Project Managers and regional leaders on staffing, resource planning, and operational efficiency.
- We coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies across multiple states to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and railroad standards.
- We implement and enforce quality assurance and quality control procedures throughout project development and delivery.
- We help advance and standardize rail engineering practices, design procedures, and project delivery processes across the company.
- We travel periodic for client meetings, site visits, regional coordination, and industry events.
- We perform additional duties as needed.
