Assistant Planning & Zoning Director

Job SummaryJoin the Town of Stowe in a key leadership role. As the Assistant Planning & Zoning Director, you will oversee daily land use permitting and development review, and provide expert guidance to residents and applicants.
Responsibilities- Review development applications, interpret and administer land use regulations, conduct site inspections, investigate zoning complaints, and collaborate with municipal staff and volunteer boards.
- Improve processes, support enforcement efforts, and deliver exceptional customer service to the public.
- Bachelor's degree in planning, community development, public administration, or a related field.
- At least three to five years of progressively responsible professional experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Working knowledge of Vermont's Planning and Development Act (24 V.S.A. Chapter 117) and municipal zoning and subdivision regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret site plans and construction drawings, apply land use regulations fairly and consistently, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively within a team.
$81,267 - $91,520 depending on qualifications.
