Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking a Grant Manager to lead grant funding initiatives that support our mission, strategic priorities, and community health programs. This is a unique opportunity for a detail-oriented and strategic professional to help bring innovative ideas to life by identifying funding opportunities, developing competitive grant proposals, and ensuring successful stewardship of awarded funds. The Grant Manager plays a critical role in advancing programs and services that make a meaningful difference for patients, employees, and the communities we serve.
About This Role
As the Grant Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of grant activities, from identifying funding opportunities and developing proposals to post-award management and compliance. Working collaboratively with leaders across Finance, Human Resources, Compliance, and operational departments, you will help secure and manage grant funding that supports organizational growth and community impact. This role combines strategic planning, project management, budget development, relationship-building, and regulatory compliance, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple disciplines and driving measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue grant opportunities aligned with NVRH's strategic priorities, including federal, state, foundation, corporate, and rural health funding sources.
- Lead proposal development, coordinate application timelines, prepare narratives and supporting materials, and ensure complete and compliant submissions.
- Partner with Finance and program leaders to develop grant budgets, budget justifications, sustainability plans, and documentation required by funding agencies.
- Manage post-award activities, including grant implementation, expenditure tracking, reporting, compliance monitoring, audit preparation, and communication with funding agencies.
- Serve as a liaison between departments involved in grant-funded projects, providing guidance, monitoring progress, and reporting outcomes to organizational leadership.
- Maintain grant management systems, develop proposal templates and organizational resources, and produce reports that track funding opportunities, proposal success rates, and grant performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- Three to five years of experience in grants administration, grant management, grant writing, or a related field.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience with financial budgeting and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of federal and state grant policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
