• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. For PTCB certified technicians, coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the operation of pharmacy systems and cash registers.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits such as proactive help, need identification, and thorough service.
• Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers.

• Under pharmacist supervision, assist in pharmacy practice, review and comply with the Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including pharmacy system data entry, prescription filling, drug verification, and workflow management.
• Report prescription errors immediately and follow Company policies for pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Adhere to Walgreens policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
• Record all sales on the assigned cash register, handle cash, and guide customers to the OTC aisle when possible.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist’s personal attention, including physician calls.
• Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
• Support Pharmacy Department inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, or damages.
• Assist with clinical services such as collecting and labeling patient samples and coordinating with Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
• Assist Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in maintaining relationships with the local medical community through provider detailing and outreach.
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to keep the Pharmacy Department stocked, clean, neat, and orderly.
• Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and comply with all company policies.
• Complete special assignments and tasks as directed.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state-required certification/registration; for promotion to senior technician, earn PTCB certification if not already possessed.
• Attend training, complete PPLs requested by Manager, and acquire continuing education credits to maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy.

• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
