Skilled Nursing & Long Term Care - Assistant Director of Nursing

Position Summary:

As a key member of the Nurse Leadership Team, the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a vital role within the Linden Health Center at Wake Robin by supporting the Director of Nursing in ensuring high-quality, compassionate, and well-coordinated care for residents. The ADON provides clinical leadership, operational oversight, and staff support while fostering a collaborative, resident-centered care environment. This role supports residents, families, and staff across clinical, administrative, and operational functions to ensure regulatory compliance and excellence in care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing nursing services to ensure high-quality resident care.
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to nursing staff, promoting best practices and evidence-based care.
  • Support coordination of care across interdisciplinary teams to ensure residents’ needs are met holistically.
  • Participate in staff education, coaching, performance management, and competency validation.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance, audits, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for staff, residents, and families, addressing concerns with professionalism and compassion.
  • Help manage staffing, scheduling, and operational needs in a skilled nursing environment.
  • Support admissions, discharges, care planning practices, and ongoing resident assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in skilled nursing and long-term care.
  • Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate and support staff.
  • Comfortable multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Work Life Balance

  • Position is primarily Monday – Friday, with participation in leadership weekend on-call rotation

The pay range for this position is $95,000-$125,000/year (Starting salary is determined based on candidate's experience, education, and relevant skills as well as internal equity considerations)
