In this role, you will perform a variety of comprehensive cleaning tasks in patient rooms, corridors, and common areas, following established protocols.
You will also operate floor care equipment, including buffers and auto‑scrubbers, and manage laundry operations, including equipment operation, accurate documentation, and the efficient collection and distribution of linens throughout the hospital. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism in patient interactions, maintain strict confidentiality, follow safety and infection control procedures, and ensure proper handling of cleaning chemicals and waste disposal. This position requires attention to detail and an ability to work collaboratively with hospital staff.
- Environmental Services & Cleaning - Perform comprehensive cleaning and maintenance of patient rooms, corridors, bathrooms, and common areas; operate floor care equipment including buffers, auto‑scrubbers, and vacuums; manage trash removal and waste disposal according to hospital standards
- Laundry Operations - Collect and distribute linens throughout the hospital, operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently, and maintain accurate documentation for all laundry services
- Safety & Infection Control - Follow Universal Precautions and isolation procedures; properly handle cleaning chemicals and contaminated materials; wash and sanitize equipment; and utilize protective equipment
- Professionalism - Maintain courteous interactions with patients, staff, and visitors; adhere to confidentiality policies; participate in training sessions; collaborate with team members and assist with orientation of new employees
- Education - High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience - Previous healthcare cleaning or environmental services experience preferred
- Technical Competency - Ability to perform diverse housekeeping and cleaning tasks following established policies and procedures; proficiency in operating cleaning equipment and handling chemicals safely
- Work Style - Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively as a collaborative team member
