Histology Technician (HT) – Full Time

A hospital-based laboratory is seeking an ASCP-certified Histology Technician to join its Pathology Department.

Hospital with 50–100 beds

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform macroscopic and microscopic examination of tissues, preparing high-quality stained slides
• Conduct quality control, preventative maintenance, and tissue processing
• Assist with frozen sections and specialized procedures (e.g., special stains, bone marrow processing)
• Operate Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and maintain accurate documentation
• Support lab performance improvement initiatives, instrument maintenance, and workflow efficiency
• Train and mentor new staff, students, and support personnel

Qualifications:

• Education:
  
  Associate’s degree in laboratory science, chemical, or biological sciences AND completion of an accredited HT/HTL program
• Certification: ASCP
• Experience:
  
  1–2 years histology experience preferred
• Skills:
  
  Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, visual concentration, and excellent communication abilities
