Overview
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Buffalo, N.Y.): (Multiple Positions) receive, order, prepare, and assay laboratory samples/patient specimens; evaluate/interpret test results; facilitate detection, diagnosis, treatment of disease processes by conducting highly specialized tests of bodily fluids; calibrate/maintain lab equip; ensure proper performance of testing to include quality control and troubleshooting.

- Receive, order, prepare, and assay laboratory samples/patient specimens.
- Evaluate/interpret test results to facilitate detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease processes.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Ensure proper performance of testing, including quality control and troubleshooting.
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree verified by NYSDOE as meeting Bachelor’s degree requirements for full licensure of a clinical lab technologist. Lab Tech Limited Permit required. Lab Technologist within 9 months required. NYS DOE - Full Clinical Laboratory Technologist License upon hire required OR laboratory technologist limited permit required not necessarily prior to hire, however prior to starting. If working with limited permit, must obtain full licensure within 9 months of hire.
If a hired employee meets the NYS DOE qualifications for a limited or full license, however, the official limited or full license will be delayed at NYS DOE due to processing time, Kaleida Health System will allow the employee to start training with a non-licensed LIS security that does not allow the reporting of results. No patient specimens will be able to be tested or reported by the trainee until a limited or full Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Technologist) NYS license is granted and verified by the NYS DOE.
