Surgical Tech

JOB SUMMARY

Assist surgeons and the surgical team in providing high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative experience in a community-focused critical access hospital setting.

• Assist surgeons and the surgical team during operative procedures by maintaining sterile technique, handling instruments and supplies, retracting tissue, supporting patient positioning, and assisting with surgical workflow.
• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness for scheduled procedures while maintaining a safe and organized surgical environment.
• Support perioperative patient care by assisting with patient transport, positioning, specimen management, documentation processes, and postoperative preparation activities.
• Participate in on‑call coverage and be prepared to scrub urgent or emergent procedures within required response times.

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative procedures.
• Ability to participate in call coverage and respond within required time frames.

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

• Previous operating room experience required.
