Radiation Therapist

What You’ll Need:- Associate or Bachelor‘s degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT[T] preferred)
- Valid VT state Radiation Therapist license
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Minimum 2 years‘ experience as a Radiation Therapist or equivalent experience in radiation oncology
- Experience with treatment planning verification, field verification films, and daily patient treatment documentation
- Ability to prepare daily schedules, perform dose calculations, and submit daily treatment billing accurately
- Comfort working with a variety of treatment machines and accessories, following established protocols
- Medical Radiologic / Nuclear Medicine Technologist credential as required by the facility
- VT state Radiation Therapist license required
- ARRT(T) certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- At least 2 years‘ clinical experience in radiation therapy or related medical imaging/radiation oncology settings
- Experience presenting field verification films to physicians and implementing set-up adjustments as directed
- Experience preparing dose calculations and maintaining accurate patient treatment records
- Preferred: prior outpatient radiation therapy experience and familiarity with billing for daily patient treatments

- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment in accordance with facility protocols.
- Accurately position patients and ensure proper immobilization during treatment.
- Verify treatment plans and dosage with the oncology team and present verification films to physicians as required.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after therapy and direct patients to nursing or physician staff for weekly evaluations.
- Document treatments, prepare dose calculations, and maintain accurate patient records.
- Prepare daily treatment schedules and ensure accessories are prepared and accounted for.
