The Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Midwifery department at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Office Secretary to join our team. NVRH’s skilled team offers a full range of services in our state‑of‑the‑art facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Communicating with patients in person and over the phone.
  • Coordinating patient care and referrals for multiple providers.
  • Scheduling, canceling appointments, and maintaining patient flow.
  • Ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information for patients.
  • Interacting with employers and employees.
  • Handling communications, including mail and telephone.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a medical office, hospital, or clinical support role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning as a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment with competing demands.
