Physical Therapist Assistant

Responsibilities Physical Therapist Assistants at DHHC, under the supervision of a registered Physical Therapist and in accordance with agency policies and state practice, act as a member of the rehabilitation staff, providing physical therapy services according to a patient plan of care. The PTA will:

• Provide treatment to patients as prescribed by physician and after initial and periodic evaluation of patient's physical therapy and rehabilitation needs have been established by a RPT.
• When PTA is going to be following a new patient, the RPT will make the initial evaluation visit and assign care to the PTA as appropriate.
• Treat patients within plan of care developed with RPT to relieve pain and improve mobility.
