Experience: Minimum 3 years of current MLT, MT or MLS experience, minimum 3 months previous travel experience
License: National Certification from ASCP, AMT, AAB required
Certifications: BLS (AHA)
Must-HaveHigh proficiency in blood bank Strong phlebotomy skills
Experience in hematology, chemistry, and coagulation
Experience with tube method for blood bank Experience in microbiology and blood bank Bachelor's degree
Utilizes skills to perform complex and specialized tests.
Uses knowledge of quality assurance to monitor quality control programs.
Promotes cost-effective testing practices.
Exercises initiative in dealing with diverse procedure and technical problems.
Communicates pertinent technical information to medical, paramedical, or lay individuals.
Demonstrates commitment to patient care and professionalism.
Accepts responsibility for practicing safe laboratory techniques.
Performs, interprets, and correlates clinical lab tests by following department protocols to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients.
Prepares specimens for testing, screens patient specimens, and analyzes specimens for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
Performs quality control procedures and assists in maintaining efficient and effective lab operations.
Must be an independent worker but can function in a team setting.
All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission.
Requests for time off must be noted in the submission.
No more than 5 days of time off will be accepted, with less preferred.
Travelers may not take all holidays off and must work specific blocks if scheduled or needed.
