THE ROLE
The Toledo Complex includes both the Huntington Center and the Glass City Center, and this role provides operational support across both locations.
Reporting directly to the Director of Catering and/or Catering Manager, the Catering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the set‑up, execution, and breakdown of banquet and catering functions while ensuring exceptional guest service and operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversee the set‑up and clean‑up of banquet and catering functions to ensure successful event execution.
- Maintain inventory of equipment, small wares, disposables, and beverages.
- Supervise housemen and stewarding staff during event set‑up and breakdown.
- Coordinate the movement and distribution of beverages and equipment for all events.
- Supervise food and beverage service operations, including room set‑up and post‑event clean‑up.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and executing all catered functions and events.
- Greet clients and event contacts while responding promptly to requests and concerns.
- Conduct pre‑event roll call meetings to communicate event details, expectations, and service standards to staff.
- Oversee general cleaning responsibilities to maintain sanitation and health standards.
- Coordinate with Facilities, Catering, and Culinary teams regarding last‑minute event changes.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by Catering Management.

- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to make quick and accurate decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
- Ability to work collaboratively with co‑workers to ensure compliance with service standards.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, banquet service standards, guest relations, and hospitality etiquette.
- Knowledge of table settings, service ware, and menu items.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10–30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks, including frequent reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.

This position operates throughout the Toledo Complex, including warehouse, dock, storage, kitchen, concessions, and event spaces. Team members may work indoors and outdoors depending on event needs. The role may require exposure to varying temperatures, including coolers, freezers, outdoor weather conditions, and high‑volume event environments.
SAFETY EXPECTATIONSAll team members are expected to practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, and complete company‑wide and job‑specific safety training.
- Operate equipment only when properly trained and authorized.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Clean spills and hazards promptly.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Report all workplace injuries and illnesses in the company’s risk management system (Origami Risk) on the same day the incident is reported.
