Summary

Lidl US is searching for the next Senior Manager – Talent Development & Learning to join our Employee Lifecycle team! The Senior Manager – Talent Development & Learning is responsible for the leadership of the Talent Development & Learning team and talent development processes, programs, and initiatives. This role provides strategic support to leadership and their respective organizations on all matters involving the development of Lidl US employees.

The individual ensures the talent development and learning strategy attracts, engages, develops, and retains employees while aligning them with the organization’s culture, strategies, and vision.

What You’ll Do Essential Functions
  • Drive execution of the talent development & learning strategy, integrating best practices/trends and performing analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing processes and programs
  • Effectively execute on talent strategy, including performance management; individual, team, and leadership development and succession planning to address current and future business needs
  • Design effective engagement strategies with a focus on retention of high performers, high potentials, and key contributors
  • Collaborate with business partners to design and implement effective analytics and metrics to influence program direction while monitoring business impact and effectiveness
  • Mentor and provide career development to colleagues to strengthen their capabilities, build functional expertise, and foster a collaborative, values-driven team culture of high standards, strong productivity, and innovation
  • Serve as the internal Subject Matter Expert regarding talent development & learning best practices as well as current trends and innovative tools and methods
  • Utilize HR systems and technologies to effectively manage and analyze talent profiles and trends
  • Responsible for the cost planning and management of resources and staff
  • Responsible for implementation of national and international development concepts
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Management, specifically Talent Management systems and principles of effective training, succession planning, and performance management
  • Ability to translate business strategies into critical talent and workforce strategies/initiatives
  • Superior project management, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Excellent management and leadership skills
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Proficient in Google Workspace Tools, Microsoft Office Suite, or related software
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 4 - 6 years of experience in related field
  • In lieu of a degree, 6+ years of experience in a related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
  • Valid US driver's license, or the ability to obtain one
Preferred Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, GPHR certifications

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Travel Requirements
  • This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers less than 25% of the time
  • This position requires overnight domestic travel less than 25% of the time
  • This position requires overnight international travel less than 10% of the time
  • Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train
