Full operational leadership of the company
We are seeking a Director of Operations to run the day-to-day operations of our construction and renovation business so ownership can step away from daily management.
This is a senior leadership role for someone who knows how to run people, projects, and processes, deal with internal issues firmly and professionally, and ensure the company operates profitably and consistently.
What You Will Be Responsible For Operations LeadershipOversee all daily operations of the company
Manage and direct:- Project Manager(s)
- Site Supervisors
- Design staff
- Office / administrative staff
- Sourcing and inventory functions
Ensure projects are executed consistently, on schedule, and within budget
People Management & AccountabilityEstablish clear expectations for performance and conduct
Address internal employee issues decisively and professionally
Manage:- Performance improvement plans
- Discipline
- Role alignment
- Terminations (with owner approval where required)
This role requires comfort in handling difficult conversations and correcting behavior early.
Project OversightOversee all active renovation and construction projects
Ensure clean handoff from estimating to production
Hold project managers and site supervisors accountable for:
- Scope
- Schedule
- Budget
- Client communication
This role is not hands‑on daily field labor, but direct leadership of those who are.
Financial & Budget Oversight (Operational Side) Oversee:- Job budgets
- Cost tracking
- Margin protection
- Change order discipline
Work closely with ownership and accounting on:
- Cash flow forecasting
- Billing cadence
- Operational financial performance
(Owner retains banking and final financial authority.)
Systems, Process & ComplianceBuild and enforce standard operating procedures
Ensure compliance with:
- OSHA safety standards
- Permitting and code requirements
Create consistency across teams, projects, and departments
What We’re Looking ForProven experience running operations in a construction or renovation company. You must understand construction to be successful in this position
Strong leadership skills with the ability to:- Enforce standards
- Hold people accountable
- Make difficult decisions
Experience overseeing:
- Project managers
- Field supervisors
- Office and support staff
- Budgets and job costing
- Cash flow from an operational standpoint
- Construction sequencing and execution
Professional, calm, and decisive leadership style
