The Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce seeks a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will oversee all activities, drive strategic initiatives, and champion the Chamber’s mission to support local businesses, foster community pride, and encourage tourism. This role requires a people-focused leader with strong public speaking skills, innovative thinking, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities- Economic Development & Community Outreach:
Collect and share community and business information; collaborate with local and regional partners on economic initiatives; support long-term strategic planning and project development. - Strategic Planning:
Contribute to the Chamber’s long-term planning, goal setting, and implementation of strategic initiatives. - Representation & Advocacy:
Represent the Chamber at meetings including VACE, SOM, SRDC, Select Board, WIB, and advocate for Chamber members and the Springfield business community. - Volunteer & Membership Engagement:
Recruit and engage volunteers; support membership growth and retention through outreach and communication. - Event Management:
Coordinate Chamber events such as business mixers, community celebrations, and educational programs; manage logistics, marketing, and execution. - Marketing:
Oversee official publications including social media posts, newsletters, press releases, Chamber Guide, Springfield Map, relocation packets, and promotional brochures. - Board & Administrative Management:
Support the Board with scheduling, agendas, minutes, and communications; supervise committees established by the Board.
- Proven leadership and management experience is highly desired, but a willingness to learn, grow and lead by example is required.
- Strong communication and public speaking skills.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in event planning, marketing, and community engagement.
- Knowledge of economic development and strategic planning principles.
- Flexible hours with some evening and weekends may be required at certain events or mixers.
- Most travel requirements are local and up to 30 minutes.
- A clean background check is required.
- Candidate must have reliable transportation and hold a valid driver’s license.
This is a part-time position with varying hours and days of work. Salary range: $24,000 to $26,000 annually with bonus earning potential based on growth.
Expect at least 1,040 hours per year. Benefits include time off for federal holidays, two weeks paid vacation per year, and dental and vision coverage.
