Position OverviewCOS Operator is a crucial role in battery formation. The COS Operator will stack the elements of the battery core in the correct and safe order to be placed inside the battery. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Areas of FocusThe COS Stacking Operator must perform the role safely, wearing all required PPE, including a respirator. Responsibilities include ensuring plates fit correctly, lugs are clean, the plate count is accurate, and that groups are fed correctly on the line and onto paddle conveyors for the next station.
Responsibilities- Load separators and plates into the machine, ensuring proper alignment.
- Ensure the machine operates correctly.
- Perform equipment changeovers as scheduled.
- Conduct visual inspections for quality and quantity; make minor adjustments under supervision.
- Operate a forklift to move materials.
- Identify various plate types.
- Complete production reports as needed.
- Use hand tools and learn specific machine controls and gauges.
- Follow hygiene rules, including mandatory showering and lunch periods on site.
- Lift 50-80 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- High School Diploma, GED, or higher.
- Forklift Certification.
- 6 months to 1 year manufacturing or plant experience.
- Basic English proficiency for safety instructions.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
