Lead Operator – Richford, VT

KENT Nutrition, a member of the KENT WORLDWIDE family of companies, is looking for a Lead Operator to join our Richford, VT plant. The Lead Operator is directly responsible for all production activities during the shift and for all shift production employees. The Lead Operator works closely with plant management to safely maximize high quality production. This is an hourly opportunity with an approximate schedule of 6:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.

Compensation: $25.00‑30.00 per hour plus KENT standard benefits (health, dental, vision, 401(k)). Final compensation is subject to variation based on candidate skills, job responsibilities, location and other factors.

Primary

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Report any factors that may influence the quality and safety of finished feed and ingredients to plant management.
  • Participate with the HACCP Feed & Food Safety Team.
  • Supervise and assist in training all production personnel.
  • Coordinate planning production activities with plant management.
  • Recommend changes to the plant or personnel to increase quality, efficiency and safety.
  • Fill in for operator positions as needed.
  • Plan, organize, motivate and direct shift production employees.
  • Maintain the overall appearance and upkeep of the facility.
  • Assist the Plant Manager in all areas of plant operations as needed.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficient with software such as Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to learn multiple site‑specific programs.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience in feed or other manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
  • Understanding of cGMPs.
  • Knowledge of HACCP Feed & Food Safety Plan.
  • Knowledge of FSMA.
  • Previous supervisory experience beneficial.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs. from floor to working height as job requires.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
