Summary of Role

Global Foundries Fab 9 (Essex Jct., VT) is seeking a Maintenance Shift Manager (MSM). This individual will manage and lead the Etch and PVD Module Maintenance Technicians along with Maintenance Tool Owners in a matrix assigned module. This is a 12‑hour night position on the N1 shift (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Saturday).

Essential Responsibilities
  • Daily management of technical resources to maintain equipment used in a semiconductor manufacturing line.
  • Drive overall equipment stability to meet critical KPIs (net MT, stability, M‑ratio).
  • Perform daily standard work with team members through shift rounds, provide preventative maintenance management and continuous improvement in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Organize and drive training to address skills deficiencies on the team.
  • Improve overall cross‑training of equipment technicians in the department.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians and management on understanding and implementing best practices.
  • Define strategy, vision, and next steps for reducing cost, complexity, and waste.
  • Work across cultural and organizational boundaries to benchmark and define “Best‑in‑company” practices and methods.
  • Engage with employees to maximize effectiveness and contributions by working with employees to set goals, discuss feedback, assess performance, and coach career development.
Other Responsibilities
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
  • Perform other duties assigned by manager or supervisor.
Required Qualifications
  • Education:

    Associate’s Degree in an engineering or technical field or related field.
  • Experience:

    Minimum five years of experience in a semiconductor fabricator or similar environment, in addition to people‑leadership experience.
  • Skills:

    Strong mechanical and leadership skills.
  • Travel:
    Up to 10%.
  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal).
  • Physical Capacity Demands:
    Ability to lift 30 lbs and wear all personal protective equipment required for entry into a cleanroom environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or engineering field.
  • Experience:

    Six or more years of experience in a semiconductor fabricator.
  • Skills:

    Technical background within a semiconductor or similar fabricator for a minimum of ten years. Project management skills, including the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter and navigate ambiguity.
Expected Salary Range

$85,000.00 – $. The exact salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
