Location: Richford
Machine Operator position at Richford, VT plant.
The Machine Operator will perform routine tasks related to feed production, including quality control, ingredient and feed processing, manufacturing and load-out, ingredient receiving and storage, equipment maintenance, and housekeeping.
Compensation range: $22.50 - $26.00 an hour, plus KENT standard benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k). Final compensation is subject to variation based on the candidate's skills, job responsibilities, location, and other factors.
Primary Responsibilities- Daily operation of equipment to process and manufacture feed products
- Operate the bagger, sewing machine, forklift, and all feed manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow warehouse and loading protocols
- Ensure KNG’s quality assurance is met regarding ingredient receiving, load‑out, and bagging
- Record and document all feed manufactured during the shift
- Mix and prepare livestock feeds efficiently, assuring accuracy and high quality
- Assist management with production scheduling, inventory planning & control for both ingredients and finished products
- Assist with equipment maintenance and repair as needed
- Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner
- Provide excellent customer service
- Observe and enforce all company policies & procedures
- Perform general work around the facility and other duties as assigned
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations
- Other duties as assigned by Plant Management
- High School diploma or GED
- 1+ years of manufacturing experience
- Farming background a plus
- Mechanical aptitude preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
- Good communication, verbal, written, and math skills
- Able to effectively communicate with customers, co‑workers, and customers
- Ability to work as a team member
- Thorough understanding of cGMP’s
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, HACCP Feed & Safety Plan, and FSMA
- Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs. from floor to working height as the job requires
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
- Ability to pass pre‑employment drug screen, physical, and background check
