Travel Nursing Opportunity – ICU RN
Join a high-acuity Intensive Care Unit and provide critical, life‑saving care to patients with severe or rapidly changing health conditions. This assignment is ideal for a resilient, detail‑oriented RN who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment.
Position Details:
- Schedule: 3x12 Nights
- Contract Length: 19.86 Weeks
- Shift Requirements: Floating as needed; every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuous monitoring and management of critically ill patients, including those recovering from trauma, surgery, sepsis, respiratory failure, and cardiac events
- Operate and manage ventilators and advanced monitoring equipment
- Administer high‑risk medications and titrate infusions
- Perform procedures such as intubation/extubation, central lines, PICC lines, A‑lines, chest tubes, NG tube management, and post‑mortem care
- Assist with cardioversion, bronchoscopy, conscious/moderate sedation, and rapid response or code blue events
- Interpret telemetry, dysrhythmias, lab results, and diagnostic data
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Unit Details:
- 14‑bed ICU, high‑acuity patient population
- Patient ratios: 2:1 or 3:1 (day/night)
- Support staff available including CNA/PCTs and unit clerks
- Typical patient diagnoses: sepsis, respiratory failure (BIPAP, HFNC, ventilator), DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, cardiac events, GI bleed, COVID, PE
- Documentation: EPIC;
Medication system: PIXIS - Floating may be required to med‑surg or ER for ICU‑level boarders
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications (NIH Stroke Scale required prior to start)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, with ICU experience preferred
- EPIC experience within the past 2 years required
- CCRN and PALS certifications preferred
