Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (12hr Days) 36 hour guarantee

Contract Length: 13 weeks Guaranteed

Hours:

36 per week

Requirements:

• Vermont RN License or Compact
• Active American Heart Association BLS
• Active American Heart Association ACLS
• 2 years of recent Med Surg Rehab experience
• Charge nurse experience
• Previous travel experience (at least 3 months)
• Skills checklist for Medical Surgical nursing (current within the last year)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients.
• Engage in patient and family education.
• Provide leadership and collaborate with ancillary nursing and other patient care personnel to maintain professional nursing standards.
• Float to any unit within scope of practice as required.
• Participate actively in patient care by overseeing and assisting other nursing staff as a backup charge nurse.

Compliance / Notes:

• Requests for time off must be noted and verified at the time of submission; no more than 5 days will be accepted.
• Call is required for this role; do not submit a candidate who will not take call.
• Orientation is non-billable for 8 hours.
• All scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission.
• There are strict attendance policies regarding call-offs, which may result in contract termination after three occurrences.
