Overview
The Emergency Department at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse. In this fast-paced position, the ED RN provides direct care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialties as required, and adjusts the nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care. Working well under pressure, our RN s collaborate with other health team members to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
NVRH has a very busy Emergency Department, and RNs must be able to learn quickly and be a proactive team member. Our rural ED has nine beds and sees over 15k patients per year and is currently under construction for an expansion. NVRH is situated in Vermont s historic Northeast Kingdom, a region renowned for its unspoiled beauty and diverse four‑season recreational activities.
A not‑for‑profit independent hospital, NVRH provides primary and preventive care, surgical and specialty services, inpatient and outpatient care, and 24‑hour physician‑staffed emergency services. Please note we are a rural critical access hospital and there is no public transportation in the area. The closest airport is 2 hours away.
- Provides direct care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialties as required, and adjusts the nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
- Collaborates with other health team members to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
Shift: Nights, three 12-hour shifts per week. 7 pm – 7 am. Must be able to cover mid-shifts as needed.
Qualifications- Current VT or compact multi‑state RN License.
- BLS, ACLS required.
- Minimum 3 years ER RN experience required. TNCC preferred.
- Familiarity with Meditech, or ability to learn quickly.
- Credentialing uploaded no later than five business days before the start.
