Job Overview

Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Nurse specializing in rehabilitation medicine is needed in Windsor, Vermont. This position involves coordinating comprehensive nursing care for patients recovering from surgery, serious illness, or injury, with a focus on restoring function and independence through therapies and specialized medical and nursing management. The role supports patient and family education and may require serving as a backup Charge Nurse in a supportive clinical environment.

• Shift: Night shifts (12‑hour shifts)
• Schedule:
  
  Nights, minimum 36 hours per week
• Beginning: 08/03/2026
• Required Qualifications:
  
  Vermont or Compact State RN license, current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, 2 years recent Medical Surgical Rehabilitation experience, BSN or higher strongly preferred, prior travel experience of at least 3 months, ability to float to other units within scope of practice, and a minimum of 2 years recent Med Surg Rehab experience.
  
  Candidate must possess own vehicle due to community transportation limitations.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  BSN degree, previous charge nurse experience, recent travel experience of at least 3 months.
• Float:
  Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Nurse to patient ratio: 1 to 4/5
  • Average daily patient census: 22
  • May be asked to serve as a backup Charge Nurse and coordinate care across units
  • Must include work history and skills checklist pertinent to medical‑surgical nursing, current within 1 year
  • Supervisory reference from within the past two years required
