Job Summary:
The Clinical Nurse in the Operating Room provides specialized perioperative care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing various surgical procedures. This role involves circulating and scrubbing in a fast-paced, outpatient-focused environment with a team dedicated to delivering high-quality surgical services.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the surgical team to prepare and organize operating rooms for scheduled procedures.
- Circulate and scrub during surgeries, ensuring adherence to sterile protocols and safety standards.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to intraoperative needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and patient information in Cerner EMR.
- Support post-operative care in Phase I/PACU, ensuring safe patient recovery.
- Comply with all facility policies, including dress code and shift requirements, during scheduled hours.
Qualifications:
- Valid state nursing license with current credentials.
- Minimum 2–5 years of RN experience, including scrub and circulate duties in surgical settings.
- Proven experience in small OR facility environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Cerner EMR system.
- Must have recent Phase I/PACU and multiple surgical experience.
- Cataract surgery experience is non-negotiable; surgical experience in related specialties is highly preferred.
