Job Summary:
Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Medical Surgical (Pediatric) unit, providing compassionate care to adult and occasional pediatric patients. This role offers the opportunity to work in a scenic rural setting in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, delivering comprehensive patient care across various medical, surgical, outpatient, and observation services.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient care by collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
- Monitor patient conditions, document findings, and report significant changes or concerns.
- Educate patients and families on health management, procedures, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and hospital policies.
- Utilize the Nursing Process to make critical clinical decisions with a focus on holistic, patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
- Hold a current Vermont RN license or multi-state RN licensure.
- Possess at least 3 years of recent acute care experience in a similar setting.
- Maintain valid BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS certifications.
- Prefer candidates with Meditech experience.
- Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
