This travel assignment is in a rural, nonprofit Critical Access Hospital with a general Med/Surg unit serving adult patients and occasional pediatrics. The role emphasizes coordination of patient care using the Nursing Process and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Note:
this is not a pediatric-only unit; pediatrics may appear on occasion.
- Weekly pay: $1,794-$1,868 per week
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour blocks (7 pm-7 am)
- Start date:
09/16/2026 - Setting:
Rural Critical Access Hospital in Vermont
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a general Med/Surg unit, with occasional pediatric cases.
- Assess patient conditions, formulate and execute care plans, monitor responses to treatment, and adjust plans as needed using the Nursing Process.
- Administer medications and IV therapies in accordance with orders; monitor for adverse effects and intervene as required.
- Communicate and collaborate with the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, Nursing Supervisor, and the broader care team to coordinate inpatient, observation, swing bed, and outpatient services.
- Ensure accurate documentation, patient safety, infection control practices, and patient/family education; participate in discharge planning.
- Maintain flexibility to support staffing needs and work within a small, rural hospital environment.
- Licensure:
Current Vermont RN license or multi-state RN licensure - Certifications:
BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS required - Experience:
Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience - Education:
RN degree from an accredited program - Specialty/Setting:
Ability to work effectively in a general Med/Surg unit with adult emphasis and occasional pediatric patients - Credentialing:
All required credentials must be uploaded five business days before start - Additional:
Flu vaccination required;
Meditech experience preferred but not mandatory
