Job Summary:
Providing specialized nursing care in an adaptive acuity unit, the registered nurse will manage various patient conditions with a focus on med-surg and telemetry. The role includes providing PCU care, medication drip management, and floating to other inpatient units as needed, ensuring high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and monitor medication drips, including insulin, emolol, and sodium, ensuring accurate titration and patient safety.
- Provide direct patient care within the adaptive acuity unit, including assessments, documentation, and intervention planning.
- Float to any inpatient unit within scope to support staffing needs, maintaining clinical excellence across departments.
- Follow all hospital protocols and standards for patient safety, infection control, and care documentation.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient status and care plans.
- Maintain up-to-date licensure, certifications, and compliance with agency and facility requirements.
Qualifications:
- Must have a current Vermont RN license or valid compact license.
- Minimum of 2 years’ recent medical-surgical or tele experience required.
- Demonstrated experience with medication drips, including insulin and vasopressors.
- Strong PCU/telemetry and med-surg skills, with recent clinical practice within the past year.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, adaptive acuity environment and float across units.
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA.
