We're now hiring a Plant Health Care Technician to help protect and maintain the health of trees and shrubs across residential and commercial properties.
Job SummaryAs a Plant Health Care Technician, you’ll be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and treating a variety of plant health issues, including pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies. You’ll work outdoors, use specialized equipment, and interact directly with clients to ensure high-quality tree and shrub care.
Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and assess the health of trees, shrubs, and other plant material
Diagnose pest, disease, and environmental stress issues
Apply treatments such as soil and trunk injections, foliar sprays, and root fertilization
Follow Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices
Maintain accurate records of treatments, inspections, and equipment use
Communicate with clients about plant health conditions and recommended treatments
Stay up to date on industry trends, safety procedures, and treatment techniques
Assist with off-season tree work (climbing, ground crew, or equipment operation) if qualified
Travel to various job sites as needed
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean job site
Required:
Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
Willingness to obtain a Commercial Pesticide Applicator License within 90 days of hire
Preferred:
Experience in landscaping, tree care, or plant health care
Degree or coursework in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, or related field
ISA Certified Arborist or Pest Applicator License (a plus)
