Kelly Science is seeking an R&D Formulation Chemist to join a growing cosmetic company located in Essex Junction, VT.

Pay: $31.25-$40.85/hour depending on experience

Shift: Monday-Friday 1st Shift (40 hours/week anticipated but hour amount may be less some weeks depending on business need)

Summary:

As the R&D Formulation Chemist, you will help develop new cosmetic products, work independently on simple updates and assist with creating products for customers, with support from more experienced staff. You will also utilize your knowledge of lab techniques and data analysis to help solve problems and document your work clearly.

Job Requirements:

• Work with the R&D team to create and develop new products, including organizing, making, and labeling lab samples.
• Coordinate with Account Managers, Process Engineers, and Regulatory departments to ensure timely development, proper pilot runs, scale-up, and compliance with all regulations.
• Source new ingredients and communicate with customers to ensure products meet their specific requirements.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
• 2-5 years of experience in cosmetic chemistry. Experience with custom manufacturing or turn-key suppliers is highly desired.
• Experience with regulations, raw materials, product specifications, writing procedures, and scaling up products required.
• Strong communication, customer service, creativity, and problem-solving skills required.
