Role DescriptionThe Executive Pastry Chef is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Stowe, Vermont. The role involves overseeing daily operations of the bakery and pastry section, preparing signature cakes, pastries, and desserts, and ensuring high‑quality culinary standards. Responsibilities include menu development, food preparation, overseeing kitchen staff, and maintaining food safety standards. The Executive Pastry Chef will collaborate closely with the culinary team to deliver exceptional pastry and baked goods that adhere to the Lodge’s Austrian‑inspired ethos.
Qualifications- Extensive experience in Bakery and Baking techniques, including creating a variety of pastries, breads, and desserts
- Strong Cooking and Culinary Skills, with an emphasis on European‑style baking and pastry arts
- Proficiency in Food Preparation and ability to maintain high standards of presentation and quality
- Ability to lead and mentor a kitchen team, manage inventory, and optimize workflow for operational efficiency
- Comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations and proper hygiene practices
- Formal education or certification in Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, or a related field is highly desirable
- Experience in a luxury dining or resort environment is a plus
