The Mountain Operations Dispatcher is an integral part of our operations team, responsible for coordinating various activities to ensure a seamless and safe experience for our guests. The role involves managing communications and responding to emergencies and guest requests. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, organized, and customer-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Summary ofKey Responsibilities Communication Coordination
- Monitor and facilitate two-way radio communications between Ski Patrol, Lift Operations, Lift Maintenance, and other resort staff.
- Relay important information, updates, and emergency announcements to the relevant departments and guests.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with resort employees to ensure smooth operations.
- Act as a point of contact for emergency situations and coordinate the response of Ski Patrol, Lift Maintenance, and other relevant teams.
- Dispatch Ski Patrol to accidents, injuries, and other incidents at the resort.
- Dispatch Lift Maintenance to mechanical and electrical problems with lifts.
- Assist guests in need by coordinating services such as transportation and medical attention.
- Field guest inquiries and provide information about resort services, events, etc.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of communications, incidents, and responses.
- Assist in compiling incident reports.
- Collaborate closely with ski patrol, guest services, maintenance, and other resort departments to ensure a cohesive operation.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or relevant certifications preferred.
- Previous dispatch, emergency response, or customer service experience is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of skiing and snowboarding terminology and resort operations is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using two-way radios and communication systems.
- Ability to work in high-stress situations and make quick decisions.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use communication equipment.
