Responsibilities
- Conduct overall sales and relationship management efforts for existing and prospective customers within the assigned territory.
- Pursue new customers by researching industry and market trends impacting restaurants within the territory.
- Identify and research prospective customers within the territory.
- Develop sales strategies highlighting products, services, values, and solutions offered by Gordon Food Service and present the strategy to prospective customers.
- Deepen and strengthen existing customer relationships through regular visits (weekly, bi‑weekly, or monthly) and business reviews to assess customer needs and opportunities for growth.
- Provide ongoing training to customers on Gordon Food Service product offerings.
- Identify opportunities within existing customers’ businesses where Gordon Food Service can add value through product and service offerings.
- Manage the sales territory, balancing new customer acquisition with strengthening existing relationships.
- Coordinate visits to prospective and existing customers and communicate order status and processing updates to customers.
During the first 90 days, you will undergo a structured training program that includes e‑learning, classroom sessions, video role‑plays, job shadowing, and peer mentorship. This training covers:
- Using Gordon Food Service systems, processes, and tools for customer relationship management.
- Understanding the product offerings available to customers.
- The sales process for engaging new customers.
- Best practices for developing relationships with current and prospective customers.
- Effective territory management strategies.
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree and/or culinary certificate preferred. - At least 1 year of prior sales, business, or food service experience.
- Valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Ability to obtain a food safety certification.
