Position Overview
The Licensed Plumber will play a key role in the installation, maintenance, and inspection of commercial plumbing systems throughout Vermont and surrounding areas within approximately one hour of the office location. This field-based position is ideal for an experienced plumbing professional who enjoys hands-on project work, problem-solving, and collaborating with both customers and internal teams.
Projects may include commercial plumbing installations, hydronic piping systems, boiler and chiller support, and other mechanical system work. The position also provides the opportunity to lead smaller crews, contribute to project planning, and help maintain high standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Typical schedules are Monday through Friday from approximately 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with company-provided vehicles available for take-home use and travel to and from job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform commercial plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance using pro-press, threading, soldering, and related techniques
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot plumbing systems to ensure compliance with codes, specifications, and safety standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents
- Identify and communicate RFIs and assist with documenting as-built conditions
- Lead and coordinate small crews while maintaining productivity, communication, and project schedules
- Support select service-related tasks involving commercial HVAC and mechanical systems
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including equipment details, measurements, and site photos
- Deliver exceptional customer service through clear communication and professionalism on job sites
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and company vehicle
- Identify opportunities for additional service or project needs when appropriate
- Active Journeyman or Master Plumber license required
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial plumbing experience preferred
- Ability to independently perform commercial plumbing installations and repairs
- OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications required
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and projects
- NH and/or VT Gas license preferred
- Rigging certification preferred
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate ladders, scaffolding, and active construction sites
- U.S. work authorization required
