Position Description
As a Mobile Repair Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing on-site maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they remain safe and operate efficiently. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and with a team, while consistently delivering exceptional customer service.
Essential Functions
Protect family and friends. Follow all Company Safety Policies and Procedures as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and guidelines. Support business activities, objectives, and programs. Maintain a safe work environment. Organize and maintain clean work area. Clean shop area free of hazards as mandated by OSHA regulations. Respond to emergency breakdowns or equipment failures on-site in a timely manner.Mastery. Travel to job locations to service equipment by troubleshooting issues, performing inspections, repairs, and installations efficiently. Remain open to new ways of doing things - actively experiment, leverage technology, and engage new ideas.Results matter. Show determination and drive in getting the job done with high quality outcomes. Ensure equipment is properly repaired on a timely basis. Perform complete inspections of equipment and report repairs issues to Equipment Manager. Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of heavy equipment including heavy mining equipment, loaders, haul trucks, asphalt pavers, rollers, milling machines, and other related machinery.Dedication. Keep accurate and detailed records of repairs, diagnostics, parts used, and services performed. Complete all required paperwork on a timely basis.Committed to serve. Perform regular preventative maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on various types of heavy machinery and vehicles.Ownership and caring. Identify faulty components and replace worn-out or damaged parts (engine parts, transmissions, hydraulic components, etc.).Measurement. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and services performed, along with inventory management for parts and tools.Respect and engage. Work closely with other team members and management to prioritize and complete work efficiently.Position Requirements
0-2 years of experience in the service repair industry (Auto/Heavy Truck and Equipment experience preferred).Must have valid driver’s license.Knowledge of gas and diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Flexibility to meet the company’s needs.Legal right to work in the U.S.Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Travel
Position will require 25% travel to PII facilities and vendors throughout NY and VT as needed for equipment repairs. Occasional further distance for training and meetings.
