Responsibilities
  • Inspect, repair, or overhaul buses, trucks, and heavy equipment.
  • Test drive and inspect vehicles.
  • Diagnose malfunctions; consult with customers on diagnosis.
  • Read and interpret diagnostic test results.
  • Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, etc.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, lubricating equipment and parts.
  • Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, mechanical or electrical equipment.
  • Test‑drive vehicles to ensure they run correctly after repair.
Requirements
  • Certificate from Technical or Trade School.
  • 2 or more years of diesel technician experience.
  • Current valid driver's license.
  • CDL and DOT health card preferred.
  • All candidates must pass a CORI check, criminal background check, and MVR check.
Qualifications
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, pulling, lifting, and twisting.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders.
  • Must frequently move equipment or parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
