Position Summary

Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician

Walmart is expanding its local retail workforce and actively recruiting a skilled technician to support and oversee repair of Walmart’s refrigeration HVAC equipment. The role requires commercial HVAC and Refrigeration skills, use of hand, digital, and power tools, and the ability to work independently to address maintenance and emergency repairs across the facility.

• Maintain and repair the Walmart facility’s refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights.

• 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR.
• Minimum 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Option 1:
  Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years of mechanical maintenance or construction‑related experience for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Option 2: 4 years of mechanical maintenance or construction‑related experience for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Where required, HVAC‑R/Mechanical journeyman.
• Ability to read and speak English.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.

Individual compensation packages are based on factors such as skill set, experience, job level, and qualifications. Eligible for bonus incentives. The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00–$45.00. Additional compensation may include premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
