Master and Journeyman Plumbers

Overview

Silver Maple is seeking skilled Master Plumber and Journeyman Plumber to join the Mechanical Division. These roles combine technical expertise, problem-solving, and customer service to execute complex residential HVAC and plumbing systems. The Master Plumber serves as a senior technical resource; the Journeyman Plumber contributes strong hands-on execution and growing leadership. Both positions aim to deliver quality mechanical work on time and within budget while meeting safety and quality standards.

Candidates with experience solving challenges in residential mechanical projects will be prioritized.

Reports to:

Director of MEP.

• System Design and Plan Review:
  Collaborate with architects and designers on new builds, remodels, and renovations; review plumbing and mechanical plans for feasibility; provide guidance on design, material selection, and code-compliant installation approaches.
• Installation and Execution:
  Manage and conduct installations of water supply and distribution systems, including piping, valves, fixtures, and outlets; install according to blueprints, drawings, specifications, and codes; partner with project managers and lead carpenters to ensure timely completion.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  Perform repairs, replacements, testing, and troubleshooting of plumbing systems; respond to emergencies and request assistance as needed; perform general maintenance and system operations duties.
• Collaboration and Mentorship:
  Assist staff and contractors with projects requiring plumbing expertise; train others to perform light plumbing maintenance and repair in a compliant and safe manner.
• Problem Solving:
  Demonstrate versatility and creativity to meet project requirements, client expectations, and code standards.
• Travel:
  Travel to project sites for installations, service calls, and site assessments as needed.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trades.
• Valid Journeyman and/or Master Plumbing License.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Comprehensive understanding of plumbing codes, permit requirements, and inspection processes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Proficiency with tools, metals, machines, and modern plumbing technologies.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems and develop effective solutions.
• Basic computer and software skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more with assistance, work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying physical conditions.
