Job Summary:
The Painter is responsible for interior and exterior painting, floor reconditioning, and various projects. This role ensures high-quality workmanship, maintains safety standards, and completes projects on schedule and within scope.
Job Specifications:
- Expected Pay Range:
Starting $22.00 per hour - Shift & Schedule Availability:
Full time year-round, Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm weekends and holidays when needed
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, and priming
- Apply paint, stains, coatings, or finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards and customer expectations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
- Use safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Communicate progress, issues, and changes to Lead Painter
- Inspect completed work and perform touch-ups as necessary
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional painting experience
- Expert knowledge of surface preparation, coatings, and application techniques
- Ability to read work orders, and project specifications
- Follow OSHA and Vermont state laws, regulations and statutes
- Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- RRPM lead paint certified or the ability to acquire necessary certifications
- Climb ladders, kneel, crouch and get into tight spaces and perform repairs on varied surfaces.
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- Strength & Stamina:
Ability to handle heavy lifting, pulling, and pushing of equipment. - Dexterity & Coordination:
Excellent hand-eye coordination for precise application and steady hand strength for using tools. - Mobility & Positioning:
Working in uncomfortable or confined spaces. - Vision:
Close vision, color vision, and depth perception to ensure quality finishes. - Safety Compliance:
Ability to wear protective equipment and work in varied weather conditions. - Conditions:
Exposure to dust, paint fumes, and varied temperatures, especially outdoors.
