Suburban Propane is seeking a Service Technician Apprentice to support safe, reliable delivery of propane and related energy services. In this hands-on role, you'll assist experienced technicians with installing, maintaining, and repairing propane tanks, gas lines, and related equipment for residential and commercial customers. You'll learn to perform safety checks, leak tests, and basic troubleshooting while following strict safety, DOT, and environmental standards.
Working primarily in the field, you'll interact directly with customers, support emergency calls, and participate in ongoing training to build your technical and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of propane tanks, lines, and related equipment
- Support senior technicians in conducting safety inspections and leak checks
- Perform basic troubleshooting under supervision and document service activities
- Operate service vehicles and equipment safely and in compliance with regulations
- Follow all safety, environmental, and DOT/OSHA guidelines
- Provide courteous on-site customer service and communicate service details
- Help load, unload, and handle cylinders, tanks, and materials
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and work areas in clean, safe condition
- Participate in training, ride-alongs, and skills development programs
- Complete basic paperwork, work orders, and digital service records
