Be a part of the climate change solution. Sisler Builders is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Energy Technician to join our energy division. Help make Vermont homes more comfortable, healthier, and more efficient through energy retrofits and building performance upgrades. No experience necessary—just a willingness to learn, hard work, and a team-oriented mindset. Opportunities for advancement are available.

The Energy Technician is a full-time, on-site role based around the Stowe/Lamoille County Area (we can also consider part-time or temporary opportunities). Day-to-day responsibilities include weatherization, air sealing, removing and installing insulation, and ventilation upgrades in residential buildings. We also have our technicians supporting blower door testing, infrared scanning, and other diagnostic tools. We prioritize applying best practices for improving energy efficiency and indoor air quality.
The majority of our work is in people's homes, so while we are shielded from the elements, we do need to be considerate of our customers spaces.
- Help with material handling, job site setup, and cleanup.
- Communicate clearly with team members and clients to ensure smooth project flow
- Identify and report issues or inconsistencies in site conditions or materials.
- Adapt to changing project needs and weather conditions.
- Support other divisions as needed
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines.
- Use tools and equipment responsibly and maintain them in good condition
- Represent Sisler Builders professionally on job sites and with clients.
- No prior experience required - paid training provided
- Interest in energy efficiency, sustainability, or building science.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools (or a willingness to learn)
- Strong attention to detail and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred but not required
